DUBAI, UAECheetah Airlines and Lions Aviation on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at strengthening collaboration in air travel, tourism and aviation development.

The agreement, signed at Cheetah Airlines’ corporate offices in Dubai, marks the beginning of a strategic partnership designed to expand business opportunities, improve passenger connectivity and promote innovation across the aviation sector.

The signing ceremony was attended by Cheetah Airlines Chairman and Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Joseph R. Waryoba, alongside the Chief Executive Officer of Lions Aviation, Senior Executives from both airlines.

Speaking during the ceremony, Mr. Waryoba described the agreement as a significant milestone in Cheetah Airlines’ long-term growth strategy.

“Today’s signing represents more than a partnership between two airlines. It reflects our shared commitment to creating greater opportunities for travellers, strengthening regional connectivity, and driving sustainable growth within the aviation industry,” he said.

The Lions Aviation Chief Executive Officer said the partnership would open new avenues for cooperation in airline operations, route development, commercial partnerships, tourism promotion, and knowledge exchange.

“We believe this collaboration will create value for both organisations while delivering improved services and greater travel options for our customers. Together, we are laying the foundation for a stronger and more competitive aviation future,” he said.

Under the Memorandum of Understanding, the two airlines are expected to explore cooperation in several strategic areas, including passenger services, cargo operations, joint marketing initiatives, staff training, technology sharing, and future route expansion.

Industry observers say the partnership comes at a time when global air travel continues to experience strong post-pandemic growth, with airlines increasingly seeking strategic alliances to improve operational efficiency, expand market reach, and enhance customer experience.

Executives from both companies emphasised that the agreement reflects their common vision of building a modern, innovative, and customer-focused aviation industry capable of supporting economic growth, tourism, and international trade.

The signing ceremony concluded with both leadership teams reaffirming their commitment to implementing the agreement and identifying immediate areas of collaboration.

The MoU is expected to pave the way for future commercial agreements as both airlines position themselves to capture emerging opportunities in regional and international aviation markets.
