DUBAI, UAE — Zimbabwe and the United Arab Emirates have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral trade and investment following a high-level engagement between Zimbabwean Ambassador to the UAE H.E. Isaac Moyo and Dubai Chambers President and CEO H.E. Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah.

Ambassador Moyo paid a courtesy call on Lootah at Dubai Chambers, where the two sides held discussions focused on expanding business cooperation between Zimbabwe and the UAE.

The engagement highlighted what Zimbabwe’s diplomatic mission described as strong strategic alignment between the two countries, particularly in promoting bilateral trade, attracting investment and creating stronger links between businesses in Zimbabwe and the UAE.

The meeting comes as Zimbabwe seeks to expand its economic and commercial relationships beyond traditional markets and attract greater foreign investment into key sectors of the economy.

Dubai, one of the world’s leading commercial and logistics hubs, provides an important platform for Zimbabwean companies seeking access to international markets, capital and business networks.

The discussions also point to growing efforts to strengthen private-sector engagement between the two countries, with business chambers playing a key role in connecting investors and companies across borders.

For Zimbabwe, increased engagement with Dubai’s business community could create opportunities for local exporters to access the UAE and wider Middle Eastern markets, while also attracting UAE-based investors into sectors with growth potential in Zimbabwe.

The two countries have maintained growing economic and diplomatic ties, with trade, investment and business cooperation forming an increasingly important part of their bilateral relationship.

The latest engagement is expected to contribute to efforts to deepen commercial links and encourage greater interaction between Zimbabwean and UAE businesses.

Zimbabwe’s embassy in the UAE said the meeting underscored the importance of continued collaboration in boosting bilateral trade and expanding investment opportunities between the two countries.

The engagement also comes as both sides seek to translate diplomatic relations into stronger economic partnerships and tangible opportunities for businesses and investors.
