PARIS- A severe heatwave sweeping across France has forced authorities to cancel multiple train services and adjust or suspend classes in several schools as temperatures are expected to climb to around 40°C in the coming days.
Officials have placed roughly a quarter of the country, including Paris, under an orange weather alert, urging residents to take precautions, avoid prolonged outdoor exposure, and stay properly hydrated.
According to Météo-France, the extreme heat is expected to continue into next week, with peak temperatures forecast for Sunday or Monday. Some regions, including the capital, could experience highs of up to 40°C.
