Dubai – Dubai Municipality has opened registration for the 2026–2027 Al Ruwayyah winter camping season, introducing 600 camping plots, caravan facilities and daily rental camps as part of efforts to develop the area into a major seasonal destination.
The camping season will run from November 1, 2026, to April 30, 2027, with the number of available camps increasing by about 120 percent compared with previous seasons.
The facilities will include standard 400-square-metre plots and larger plots measuring up to 800 square metres. For the first time, 50 dedicated caravan plots and 10 fully equipped camps will be available for daily rental, allowing visitors to enjoy the experience without bringing their own camping equipment.
Dubai Municipality has also allocated 10 spaces for winter events, family activities, community programmes and seasonal markets.
Small and medium-sized enterprises will have opportunities to participate through food and beverage services, desert activities and other recreational experiences.
Campers will be required to obtain permits, mark their plot boundaries, install temporary fencing and use the facilities exclusively for family purposes and camping activities.
UAE nationals can register and reserve camping plots through the official winter camping portal at wintercamp.dm.gov.ae or through the DubaiNow app. Seasonal bookings will range from three to six months, with separate options for caravan plots and daily rental camps.
Bader Anwahi, chief executive officer of the Public Facilities Agency at Dubai Municipality, said the initiative marked an important step towards establishing Al Ruwayyah as an integrated winter destination.
He said the Municipality would continue expanding the range of experiences available while creating opportunities for local businesses to contribute to the destination’s growth.
