RANGWE, KENYA — The Kagan Open Troop, in partnership with the Rangwe Sub-County Scouts Association, is set to hold a Peace Walk on Sunday, 13 September 2026, in Rangwe, bringing together young people and community stakeholders in a collective call for peace, dialogue, unity and peaceful coexistence.
The initiative is aimed at empowering young people to become active promoters of peace within their communities while creating an opportunity for different groups and institutions to work together towards building safer and more united communities.
The organizers are inviting Faith-Based Organizations (FBOs), Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), non-governmental organizations (NGOs), institutions, businesses, community groups and other well-wishers to partner with them in making the event a success.
According to the organizers, peace-building requires the active participation of the whole community, particularly young people who have an important role to play in promoting dialogue, tolerance and understanding among different sections of society.
“Your support, financial, material, or through services, will make a meaningful difference,” the organizers said in their partnership appeal.
Partnership Opportunities
Organizations, businesses and individuals interested in supporting the Peace Walk can participate through different partnership categories based on their level of contribution.
Platinum Partner: KSh 20,000 and above
Gold Partner: KSh 10,000–19,999
Silver Partner: KSh 5,000–9,999
Community Partner: KSh 1,000–4,999
In-Kind Partner: Provision of goods or services
All partners will receive recognition according to their level of contribution, providing participating organizations and businesses with an opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to peace and community development.
The Kagan Open Troop and the Rangwe Sub-County Scouts Association are encouraging potential partners to come forward and support the initiative, whether through financial contributions, materials, logistical assistance or professional services.
The Peace Walk is expected to provide a platform for young people and community members to reflect on the importance of peaceful communities while strengthening cooperation among organizations working at the grassroots level.
