TEHRAN- Tensions are rising in the Gulf as Iran has issued a strong warning to Donald Trump over a newly announced U.S. naval operation in the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz.
The mission, dubbed Project Freedom, aims to escort stranded commercial vessels through the waterway, with operations expected to begin within hours. However, Iranian officials have cautioned that any U.S. military presence in the strait could be interpreted as a breach of the current ceasefire.
Senior Iranian lawmaker Ebrahim Azizi stated that foreign interference in the passage would not be tolerated and may trigger a direct response. Meanwhile, Iran’s Foreign Ministry confirmed it is reviewing Washington’s reaction to Tehran’s recent 14-point proposal aimed at ending the ongoing conflict—an offer Trump has already dismissed as “unacceptable.”
Beyond the Gulf, regional instability continues to intensify. Israel has expanded its military operations, launching fresh attacks in Lebanon that reportedly injured several medics. In Gaza, Israeli forces have also widened their control by declaring a new boundary known as the “Orange Line.”
With multiple flashpoints unfolding simultaneously, fears are growing that the situation could spiral into a broader regional confrontation.
