Dubai Chamber of Commerce has expanded its “New Horizons” initiative to 27 international markets across Asia and Africa, reinforcing Dubai’s position as a leading global centre for trade and investment.
Launched in 2023, the programme has already facilitated more than 6,000 business meetings between Dubai-based companies and overseas firms, helping create new export opportunities and strengthen international commercial partnerships.
Speaking during a trade mission to Ethiopia, Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah said the initiative supports the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33) and complements the Dubai Global programme, which focuses on unlocking opportunities in 30 priority international markets.
Lootah emphasized that Dubai Chambers will continue enhancing direct communication and cooperation between local businesses and global trade partners to accelerate investment and commercial growth.
The inclusion of Ethiopia in the latest mission highlights rapidly expanding economic ties between Dubai and the East African nation. Bilateral trade between the two markets surged from $454 million in 2013 to nearly $6.1 billion in 2025.
Dubai’s export sector also recorded strong momentum in 2025. Members of the chamber achieved AED 356.5 billion in exports and re-exports during the year, compared to AED 309.6 billion in 2024 — marking a 15.1 percent increase.
The continued expansion of the New Horizons initiative reflects Dubai Chambers’ growing role in connecting local enterprises with emerging global trade opportunities.
