ABU DHABI — The UAE Cyber Security Council and SCC Middle East are set to establish a Centre of Excellence for Cyber Resilience and Trusted Technology aimed at strengthening cybersecurity capabilities in the UAE and supporting innovation across the region.
The initiative was announced during AI Everything Abu Dhabi and will provide government institutions, businesses, technology companies and cybersecurity specialists with a platform to test emerging technologies, develop practical use cases and explore secure ways of deploying new solutions at scale.
The Centre will be implemented in three phases.
The first phase will focus on developing national expertise through executive training, practical laboratories and specialist programmes covering artificial intelligence, cloud computing, data, cybersecurity and critical national infrastructure.
The second phase will establish a startup incubator to support the development and growth of UAE-based cybersecurity technologies. Locally developed solutions will be tested and validated against real-world requirements.
The final phase will focus on helping selected UAE-developed technologies enter international markets by connecting them with global customers, technology ecosystems and commercial opportunities.
Both the UAE Cyber Security Council and SCC Middle East will oversee the integration and delivery of the initiative, bringing together the expertise, technology and resources required for each programme.
Dr Mohamed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Cyber Security for the UAE Government, said the UAE had set ambitious objectives in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity and the development of a secure and resilient digital economy.
He said the Centre would provide government and industry stakeholders with an environment to transform those ambitions into practical capabilities.
SCC Middle East CEO Daniel Valle said the focus would be on solving real-world challenges rather than simply demonstrating technology.
“Not a showroom, but somewhere we can bring customers, partners and specialists together around real problems,” Valle said.
He said SCC would help connect the different elements of the initiative and remain responsible for ensuring that the solutions work effectively in their intended environments.
