Dubai Municipality has secured official recognition from Official World Record (OWR) for its best practices and governance standards, cementing its status as a global benchmark for institutional excellence.

The honour follows an in depth assessment conducted by an international panel of experts and auditors. The evaluation measured Dubai Municipality’s institutional framework against globally recognised standards spanning governance, quality and risk management, business continuity, innovation, digital transformation and the responsible use of artificial intelligence.

The recognition highlights the Municipality’s ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional performance through an integrated governance framework. This framework supports operational excellence, service innovation and sustainable development while working to improve quality of life across the emirate.

Officials note that adopting international standards has boosted organisational performance and improved the customer experience through streamlined procedures, quicker service delivery and greater use of smart digital tools and artificial intelligence. These initiatives also align with environmental sustainability and social responsibility goals, supporting Dubai’s ambition to become the world’s best city to live and work in.

Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director-General of Dubai Municipality, said the recognition reflects the leadership’s vision of making excellence a core principle of government work and credited the Municipality’s teams for their dedication to delivering innovative and future ready services.

He added that the achievement would encourage the Municipality to continue raising institutional standards while advancing Dubai’s global standing. He also reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to sharing its knowledge and expertise with institutions worldwide.

The recognition reinforces Dubai Municipality’s role as an international point of reference for institutional excellence, positioning Dubai as a preferred destination for global organisations and delegations seeking to learn from its governance model and innovation driven approach.
