KINSHASA, July 4 (WAM) – The Democratic Republic of the Congo’s Ebola outbreak has continued to escalate, with the number of confirmed infections rising to 1,502, according to the latest government figures.

Health authorities said the outbreak has claimed 473 lives, underscoring the severity of the deadly virus as efforts to contain its spread continue.

The confirmed cases have been reported across the eastern provinces of Ituri, North Kivu, and South Kivu, where health officials are intensifying surveillance, treatment, and response measures to curb further transmission.

The government, working alongside international health partners, continues to monitor the situation closely while urging communities to remain vigilant and adhere to public health guidelines aimed at preventing the spread of the disease.
