Private schools across Dubai will close for the Eid Al Adha holidays from Monday, May 25, to Friday, May 29, according to the unified academic calendar announced by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA). Classes are set to resume on Monday, June 1.
The holiday announcement comes ahead of one of the most important celebrations in the Islamic calendar. Authorities extended their greetings to students, teachers, school staff, and families, wishing them a joyful and blessed Eid holiday.
Eid Al Adha in the UAE is astronomically expected to begin on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, while the Day of Arafah is likely to fall on Tuesday, May 26. The projected dates were shared by Ibrahim Al Jarwan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Astronomical Society and member of the Arab Union for Astronomy and Space Sciences.
As with all Islamic occasions, the official dates will depend on the moon sighting announcement in the UAE.
