SOUTH SUDAN -A fatal aviation accident near Juba has left 14 people dead after a light aircraft crashed on the outskirts of the South Sudanese capital.

According to the South Sudan Civil Aviation Authority, all 13 passengers and the pilot on board the Cessna aircraft were killed. Preliminary findings suggest that poor weather conditions, particularly low visibility, may have contributed to the crash.

Authorities confirmed that two of the victims were Kenyan nationals, while the remaining passengers were from South Sudan.

Footage circulating on social media shows the wreckage engulfed in flames, scattered across a mountainous area covered in thick mist.

Emergency response teams have been deployed to the crash site, located approximately 20 kilometers from Juba, to support rescue operations and begin a formal investigation into the cause of the incident.

Officials say further details will be released as the investigation progresses.
