DUBAI-US President Donald Trump has said he does not expect to deploy American ground troops to Iran, while Saudi Arabia reports that its forces have intercepted a drone heading towards the kingdom’s Eastern Province, as tensions across the Middle East intensify.

Trump also said he would not use nuclear weapons against Iran, signalling his position on the potential escalation of the conflict.

Meanwhile, the Saudi-led coalition announced that its forces had intercepted and destroyed a drone launched towards Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province. The incident comes amid growing regional security concerns and renewed hostilities involving armed groups across the region.

Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned attacks by Yemen’s Houthi movement, describing them as “full-fledged war crimes”. Riyadh accused the group of threatening Muslim holy sites and endangering pilgrims.

In Yemen, the government reported that the prime minister and members of his cabinet survived a Houthi missile attack targeting the al-Maashiq presidential palace in the southern port city of Aden.

Yemen’s health minister said at least five people were killed and 16 others wounded in the attack.

The latest developments underscore the widening security challenges facing the region, with concerns mounting over further military escalation and its potential consequences for civilians and regional stability.
