Flight operations at Dubai International Airport (DXB) are gradually resuming after a temporary suspension triggered by a drone-related incident early Monday, authorities confirmed.

Emirates announced it has reinstated limited services under a reduced schedule, though several flights scheduled for the day remain cancelled. The airline said affected passengers are being notified directly and provided with rebooking options.

The Dubai Civil Aviation Authority said the suspension was implemented as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of passengers and staff. Travellers have been advised not to proceed to the airport unless contacted by their airline.

Earlier, all Emirates flights to and from Dubai were halted following the incident, which involved damage to a fuel tank near the airport. Dubai Civil Defence confirmed the resulting fire was quickly contained, with no injuries reported.

Dubai Airports said some inbound flights were diverted to Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) during the disruption.

The incident comes amid heightened regional tensions linked to the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, which has disrupted airspace across parts of the Middle East and prompted increased aviation security measures.

Authorities said operations are being restored in phases as safety assessments continue.
