SHARJAH — The UAE’s Ministry of Defence has confirmed that national air defence systems successfully intercepted a fresh wave of Iranian missiles launched toward the country, neutralising the threat with what officials described as “high efficiency” and without causing any damage or casualties.

In an urgent statement, the ministry said the armed forces remain on full alert and are completely prepared to confront any attempts to threaten the nation’s security and stability. Authorities emphasised that safeguarding citizens, residents, and visitors remains the country’s highest priority.

Despite the successful interception, missile fragments fell in several areas across Abu Dhabi, including Saadiyat Island, Khalifa City, Bani Yas, Mohamed bin Zayed City, and Al Falah. Officials confirmed there were no injuries reported in any of the affected locations.

The ministry strongly condemned the missile launch, describing it as a “flagrant violation” of the UAE’s sovereignty and international law. It added that the UAE reserves the right to take all necessary measures to defend its territory and protect its people.

Authorities also urged the public to rely only on official sources for updates and to avoid spreading rumours or unverified information as the situation develops.

Further details are expected as monitoring continues.
