Dubai, UAE – February 19, 2026

The Dubai Ports Authority (DPA) has officially become a regular member of the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH), a move aimed at strengthening Dubai’s footprint in the global maritime sector.

The membership enables Dubai to play a more active role in shaping sustainable, efficient, and resilient port operations worldwide. Through IAPH, DPA will collaborate with port authorities and maritime stakeholders across more than 90 countries, engaging in initiatives focused on emissions reduction, energy transition, digital transformation, maritime supply chain coordination, risk management, and operational resilience.

Captain Ibrahim Al Blooshi, Executive Director of Dubai Ports Authority at the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation, said the step aligns with Dubai’s broader vision to deepen integration within the international maritime ecosystem. He noted that membership enhances knowledge exchange, cooperation, and adoption of global best practices in safety, sustainability, and digital innovation.

Al Blooshi added that the development strengthens Dubai’s position as a future-ready maritime hub, opening doors to strategic partnerships and joint initiatives. It also supports the adoption of smart solutions and advanced technologies designed to improve operational efficiency, ensure business continuity, and elevate customer experience.

Dubai Ports Authority oversees major maritime facilities including Jebel Ali Port, Al Hamriya Port, and Mina Rashid, as well as Dubai Drydocks and Dubai Maritime City. The Authority continues to modernize infrastructure and align operations with international standards to enhance the global standing of Dubai’s ports.

The move reflects Dubai’s broader ambition to position its ports as leading centers of trade, competitiveness, and innovation in an evolving global maritime landscape.
