Dubai has intensified its drive to become a global digital powerhouse with the launch of the third edition of the Create Apps Championship, an initiative under the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy. The launch was endorsed by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who commended the emirate’s accelerating digital transformation journey.
Sheikh Hamdan highlighted that Dubai’s rise as a technology hub is rooted in the forward-looking vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He noted that innovation, talent development, and future-ready solutions continue to fuel the emirate’s sustainable growth.
The Create Apps Championship, part of the wider Create Apps in Dubai initiative, has seen remarkable success since its debut. More than 5,800 applicants have participated across previous editions, leading to the creation of over 55 smart applications — a testament to Dubai’s expanding innovation and entrepreneurship landscape.
Reinforcing the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, Sheikh Hamdan said the emirate is committed to empowering creators and solidifying its position as a global destination for business, investment, and digital excellence.
Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence and Chairman of the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, emphasized that the championship has grown into a world-class platform attracting elite digital talent while staying aligned with rapid advances in the app development sector.
The 2025 edition introduces a new Longevity App of the Year award dedicated to wellbeing and sustainable health solutions. It also launches an Alumni Accelerator Programme designed to support top-performing teams and help develop 50 new market-ready applications.
With four competitive categories and funding exceeding AED 2.5 million — including up to AED 1 million for the top winners — the championship continues to offer one of the region’s strongest incentives for innovators. Registration for the competition is now officially open.
