Exactly a day into the second year of the Israeli-Gaza war, Israeli forces killed at least 77 people across the Gaza Strip on Monday as Hamas promised to wage a “war of attrition” and Palestinians in the enclave marked one year of conflict.
Lebanon’s Hezbollah claimed missile attacks on the Israeli port city of Haifa and a military base near the central city of Tel Aviv.
Israel’s military said it hit a Hezbollah intelligence headquarters in Beirut as it continued to pound the Lebanese capital. The military also issued new evacuation orders for southern Lebanon.
In Gaza, at least 41,909 people have been killed and 97,303 wounded in Israeli attacks since October 2023. In Israel, at least 1,139 people were killed in the Hamas-led attacks on October 7 and more than 200 people were taken captive.
