DUBAI-The United States military says it carried out strikes on Iranian radar and drone facilities in the city of Goruk and on Qeshm Island over the weekend, marking a significant escalation in regional tensions.
Meanwhile, Kuwait reported hostile missile and drone attacks after Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced it had launched a retaliatory operation against a military base it claims was used in an attack on Sirik Island.
In Lebanon, Israel’s expanding military offensive has sparked international concern, prompting France to call for an emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council to address the worsening situation.
US President Donald Trump stated that Washington is nearing a “very good deal” with Iran, despite reports from US media suggesting that the administration is seeking stricter terms in ongoing negotiations.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi confirmed that exchanges of messages between Tehran and Washington are continuing, but cautioned that no agreement is guaranteed until a final deal is reached.
