DUBAI- The United States says its forces carried out strikes on missile launch sites and mine-laying vessels in southern Iran, describing the attacks as acts of “self-defence.” Iranian media earlier reported explosions in the strategic port city of Bandar Abbas along the Strait of Hormuz.

At the same time, senior Iranian negotiators arrived in Qatar for high-level discussions aimed at securing a possible agreement to end the ongoing US-Israel conflict with Iran. Tehran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman said negotiations had made progress but warned that a final deal was not yet close.

US President Donald Trump said any future agreement with Iran should include regional countries such as Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkiye joining the Abraham Accords to normalise relations with Israel.

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered what he called “strong blows” against Hezbollah in Lebanon, declaring that Israel remains “at war” with the group.

Lebanon’s Health Ministry reported that Israeli attacks since March 2 have killed at least 3,185 people and wounded more than 9,600 others, with intensified air strikes targeting the Bekaa Valley and southern Lebanon.
