Dubai- The United States has carried out a fresh wave of military strikes on Iran, with Iranian media reporting explosions on Qeshm Island, Bandar Abbas and Chabahar. The escalation comes as Washington renews pressure on Tehran and tightens restrictions on maritime traffic linked to Iran.

Iran responded with retaliatory attacks targeting what it described as US-linked assets in Kuwait, Bahrain and Jordan, further intensifying tensions across the Gulf region.

The US military also said it disabled an oil tanker that was attempting to sail towards an Iranian port in the Strait of Hormuz. According to American officials, Hellfire missiles were used to stop the vessel amid concerns over sanctions violations and military support operations.

Tehran has maintained that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed “until the US ends its aggression,” raising fears of disruptions to global energy supplies and shipping routes.

In a separate development, the United States announced that Lebanon and Israel had agreed on the framework and guidelines for a limited Israeli troop withdrawal from southern Lebanon following talks held in Rome.

The latest military exchanges mark one of the most serious escalations between the United States and Iran in recent years, with regional governments closely monitoring the possibility of a wider conflict spreading across the Middle East.
