ABU DHABI, June 11, 2026 – H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Ambassador Mike Waltz, the United States Permanent Representative to the United Nations, in Abu Dhabi to discuss bilateral relations and pressing regional developments.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed the strong and growing strategic partnership between the United Arab Emirates and the United States, with a focus on enhancing cooperation through international organisations and multilateral platforms.
The discussions also centred on recent regional tensions, including the impact of Iranian attacks targeting the UAE and several neighboring countries. The two officials examined the implications of these developments on regional stability, international peace and security, global energy supplies, maritime safety, and the world economy.
Sheikh Abdullah expressed the UAE’s appreciation for the United States’ steadfast support and solidarity following the attacks, emphasizing the importance of international cooperation in addressing security challenges.
The meeting further addressed ongoing developments in Sudan and Lebanon, with both sides exploring ways to strengthen collective efforts aimed at promoting lasting peace, stability, and prosperity across the region.
Highlighting the depth of UAE-US relations, Sheikh Abdullah reaffirmed the strength of the longstanding partnership between the two nations and their shared commitment to expanding collaboration across key sectors. He noted that continued cooperation serves the mutual interests of both countries while contributing to regional and global security and economic growth.
The meeting was attended by Yousef Al Otaiba, the UAE Ambassador to the United States.
