DUBAI- The UAE Ministry of Education has announced the results of the 2025-2026 end-of-year resit examinations, marking the conclusion of the academic year for students in Grades 4 to 12 enrolled in public schools and private schools following the ministry’s curriculum.

The results were released at 2pm on Monday, July 20, through the ministry’s official electronic platforms, allowing students and parents to access their scores immediately after they were approved.

The resit examinations, conducted from July 14 to 17, served as the final opportunity for eligible students who had not met the minimum passing requirements in one or more subjects. The ministry confirmed that no additional or make-up examinations will be offered beyond the scheduled resit period.

School administrations had earlier advised students and parents to check the results through official channels, stressing that the exams represented the last chance to qualify for promotion to the next grade level. Schools also encouraged learners to view the outcome positively and use the experience to improve their future academic performance.

Passing grades

According to the Ministry of Education’s assessment policy, students who successfully pass a resit examination are awarded the minimum passing mark for that subject, regardless of the actual score achieved in the exam.

Students in Cycles 1 and 2 receive a passing grade of 50, while those in Cycle 3 are awarded 60. For Grade 12 students, the minimum passing mark is included in the calculation of the overall total and general average.

The resit exams were available to students in Grades 4 to 12 who failed to achieve the required minimum mark in one or more Group A subjects. Each student was allowed only one resit attempt per subject.

Group A subjects include Arabic, Islamic Education, Social Studies and Moral Education, English, Mathematics, Science, Chemistry, Physics and Biology, depending on the student’s grade level and academic stream.

Academic support

Before the examinations, schools implemented a range of academic support initiatives, including online revision lessons, Learning Management System (LMS) resources featuring practice exams and model answers, as well as intensive teacher-led revision sessions focusing on key concepts from the third term and areas where students required additional support.

The release of the resit results officially brings the 2025-2026 academic year to a close, allowing eligible students to complete promotion procedures and prepare for the next academic year.
