Dubai: The United Arab Emirates has launched a nationwide digital initiative inviting citizens and residents to reaffirm their commitment to the nation, its leadership, and the values that unite its diverse society.
The Pledge and Commitment Initiative, launched in May by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, aims to strengthen national belonging, promote coexistence, and encourage civic responsibility among people living across the country.
The initiative was officially unveiled during a ceremony at the Abu Dhabi Energy Centre, where more than 4,800 participants—including citizens, residents, students, academics, investors, business leaders, and community representatives—joined in support of the programme. It has since been expanded to the wider public through the online platform, pledge.ae.
The pledge provides an opportunity for participants to express loyalty to the UAE and appreciation for the country’s leadership and achievements. It is built around four key principles: promoting unity and coexistence, embracing the leadership values championed by the nation’s President, strengthening national identity and civic responsibility, and expressing gratitude for the country’s progress and accomplishments.
By signing the pledge, participants affirm their commitment to living peacefully, preserving national values for future generations, and contributing positively to the continued development and prosperity of the UAE.
Taking part is simple. Citizens and residents can visit the online portal, read the pledge, and sign it digitally within minutes. Upon completion, participants receive a personalised Certificate of Appreciation, which can be downloaded and shared on social media as a symbol of their commitment and pride in the nation.
The initiative is expected to evolve into a broad national movement that combines community engagement, digital participation, and public activities. It reflects the UAE’s ongoing efforts to foster social cohesion and strengthen the spirit of unity among the many cultures and communities that call the country home.
“The UAE flag is a symbol of strength and pride,” said Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, highlighting the values of loyalty, unity, and national pride that the initiative seeks to promote.
As one of the world’s most diverse nations, the UAE continues to encourage citizens and residents alike to embrace the shared values that have helped shape the country’s remarkable success story.
