DUBAI, August 9, 2026 — The UAE has stepped up efforts to integrate agentic artificial intelligence across the Federal Government, with more than 100 government officials taking part in a strategic workshop to begin implementing the national initiative.
The project aims to transform 50 percent of government operations, services and tasks into agentic AI-driven models within the next two years, marking a major step in the UAE’s drive towards more advanced and efficient digital governance.
Organised by the National Committee for the Agentic AI Project, the workshop launched the initiative’s strategic government workstream, which seeks to embed AI capabilities across federal institutions to enhance policy development, strategic foresight and decision-making.
The programme is built around seven key areas: strategy and projects; foresight and strategic intelligence; policies; structures and governance; government performance; global competitiveness; and innovation in government work.
Officials also discussed implementation priorities, frameworks for classifying government tasks and mechanisms to strengthen cooperation between federal entities while reducing duplication in government operations.
Huda Al Hashimi, Deputy Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Strategic Affairs, said the workshop represented the operational beginning of efforts to deploy AI models across government and further strengthen the UAE’s position as a global leader in future-ready governance.
The initiative is guided by the principle “human leads, AI enables,” emphasising the role of artificial intelligence in supporting government employees and decision-makers rather than replacing human leadership.
The move forms part of the UAE Government 4.0 vision, which seeks to harness emerging technologies to create more agile, efficient and innovative public services.
