ABU DHABI — President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has directed the provision of humanitarian assistance to people affected by the ongoing crisis in Lebanon through the UAE Aid Agency.
The relief package includes food supplies and other essential humanitarian items aimed at supporting affected communities and addressing urgent humanitarian needs.
The initiative reflects the UAE’s longstanding commitment to providing rapid humanitarian assistance to countries affected by crises and disasters, while fulfilling its international obligations to support vulnerable populations.
Tareq Ahmed Al Ameri, Chairman of the UAE Aid Agency, said the UAE remains committed to delivering immediate relief during emergencies and supporting communities through various forms of humanitarian assistance.
He said the agency would coordinate with Lebanon’s Higher Relief Council to ensure the timely distribution of food and other relief materials, helping affected families access basic necessities such as food, medicine, clothing and shelter while supporting early recovery efforts.
Lebanese Ambassador to the UAE Tariq Hassan Munaymina expressed gratitude to the UAE’s leadership, government and people for their continued support of Lebanon during difficult times.
He praised the UAE’s humanitarian efforts, saying they have helped Lebanon address urgent needs while contributing to peace, stability and development.
The UAE has provided sustained humanitarian and development assistance to Lebanon over the years, including the “UAE Stands with Lebanon” campaign, reaffirming its commitment to supporting the Lebanese people during times of crisis.
