The UAE has strongly condemned the terrorist attack targeting an Indian-flagged vessel off the coast of Oman, describing the incident as a dangerous escalation that threatens international maritime navigation and regional stability.
In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the attack undermines the security of vital maritime corridors and endangers the safety of global shipping routes.
The ministry reaffirmed the UAE’s solidarity with India and expressed full support for measures aimed at protecting Indian vessels and safeguarding maritime interests.
According to the statement, the attack represents a clear violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2817, which upholds freedom of maritime navigation and condemns attacks on commercial vessels or disruptions to international shipping lanes.
The UAE also warned against the use of the Strait of Hormuz as a means of political pressure or economic blackmail, stressing that attacks on commercial shipping amount to acts of piracy and pose a direct threat to regional stability and global energy security.
