The United Arab Emirates has successfully mediated a new prisoner exchange between the Russia and Ukraine, resulting in the release of 386 captives, with 193 individuals freed from each side.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this latest breakthrough brings the total number of captives exchanged through UAE-led mediation efforts to 6,691. The ministry expressed gratitude to both nations for their cooperation, noting that their continued engagement reflects strong confidence in the UAE’s diplomatic role.
This marks the twenty-second successful mediation facilitated by the UAE, underscoring its growing influence and balanced relations with both Moscow and Kyiv.
Officials reaffirmed the country’s ongoing commitment to supporting peaceful solutions to the conflict, while also addressing its humanitarian consequences, particularly for prisoners and displaced civilians.
