Condolences to be received at Zabeel Majlis over three days
DUBAI, September 22, 2026 — The funeral prayer for the late Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum will be held at Zabeel Grand Mosque in Dubai on Tuesday at 1pm, the Dubai Media Office has announced.
Condolences will be received at Zabeel Majlis for three days, beginning Tuesday from 4pm until Maghrib prayers.
On Wednesday and Thursday, mourners will be received in two sessions — from 10am until Dhuhr prayers, and from after Asr prayers until Maghrib prayers.
Sheikh Ahmed, the younger brother of UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Dubai Ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, died on Monday morning at the age of 76.
Born in Dubai on July 12, 1950, Sheikh Ahmed’s death prompted the Dubai Ruler’s Court to declare 10 days of official mourning across the emirate, beginning Monday, September 21.
During the mourning period, flags across Dubai will be flown at half-mast.
