MANILA — The death toll from floods and landslides triggered by heavy monsoon rains and tropical cyclones Luis and Kujira has risen to 19 in the Philippines.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council reported that four people remain missing, while more than 2.27 million people have been affected by the severe weather.
Nearly 95,000 people are currently staying in 919 evacuation centres across affected regions as authorities continue relief and rescue operations.
At least 684 houses have been damaged, including 45 that were completely destroyed.
Infrastructure damage has been estimated at 1.45 billion pesos ($23 million), while damage to agriculture has reached approximately 135.33 million pesos.
Authorities continue to assess the extent of the damage as communities affected by the floods and landslides begin recovery efforts.
