The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) has launched its Knowledge Lounge initiative in Egypt, expanding its efforts to nurture a culture of Arabic reading and support youth intellectual growth.

The launch took place at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina during a session moderated by writer Said Mahmoud, with leading literary and cultural figures in attendance.

Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of MBRF, described the step as a milestone in the foundation’s regional expansion, noting its goal of encouraging Arab youth to broaden their knowledge and expertise. He highlighted the importance of hosting the launch at the historic Bibliotheca Alexandrina, calling it a “beacon of science, knowledge, and creativity.”

The session reviewed the initiative’s progress since its inception, including its success in Canada where it boosted Arabic reading among expatriate communities and supported Arab writers.

In Egypt, the Knowledge Lounge will spotlight local authors, strengthen readership, and operate within a sustainable framework to promote literary engagement.

Through interactive sessions and discussions, the initiative aims to empower readers, writers, and thinkers, contributing to the advancement of the Arabic language and the wider Arab knowledge landscape.
