The Iran-US memorandum of understanding signed in June is set to expire today, as negotiations aimed at ending the conflict remain deadlocked.

Meanwhile, Israel has deployed additional soldiers to Qusra in the occupied West Bank, where Israeli settlers have reportedly been besieging three Palestinian homes for a second consecutive week.

US President Donald Trump has also ordered the Pentagon to scale back its annual military exercises with South Korea, saying Seoul had declined to participate in what he described as the “denuclearisation” of Iran.

In Gaza, Hamas has called on the Board of Peace to pressure Israel into accepting the proposed Gaza peace plan. The appeal follows a meeting in Alamein, Egypt, between a Hamas delegation led by political chief Khalil al-Hayya and Jared Kushner, Trump’s son-in-law, as Washington continues efforts to advance the plan.
