DUBAI – Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) Free Zone has entered into a strategic partnership with DHL Express aimed at empowering small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to grow beyond the UAE and access international markets.

The agreement was formalised during a signing ceremony held at the DHL Express UAE Dubai Office. The partnership was signed by Mahamoud Haj Hussein, Managing Director of DHL Express UAE, and Abdalla Al Banna, Vice President of Free Zone Regulatory Operations at DWTC Free Zone.

A key feature of the collaboration is DHL’s GoTrade Programme, a global initiative designed to equip SMEs with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed in international trade. The programme offers expert-led training through 14 interactive modules covering areas such as international shipping, customs regulations, e-commerce, cross-border trade operations, financial planning, and customer experience management.

More than 2,500 companies operating across over 40 industries within the DWTC Free Zone will be able to access the training programme free of charge, providing businesses with valuable resources to support international expansion.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Al Banna said the initiative directly supports the growth ambitions of Dubai’s SME sector, which remains a key pillar of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33). He noted that the partnership reflects DWTC Free Zone’s commitment to creating a future-ready business environment by providing practical tools and opportunities for entrepreneurs and growing enterprises.

Hussein highlighted DHL’s broader role in supporting business growth beyond logistics services, describing the company as a strategic partner that connects businesses to global opportunities through its international network and trade expertise.

The agreement also establishes a framework for continuous collaboration and knowledge-sharing between the two organisations, paving the way for additional SME-focused initiatives and programmes in the future.
