Dubai, UAE – Dubai will once again take centre stage in the global sustainability movement when it hosts the 12th World Green Economy Summit (WGES) on October 21-22, 2026, at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the summit will be organised by the World Green Economy Organisation (WGEO), the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, and the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA).

Taking place under the theme “From Success to Scale: Showcasing the Green Economy,” the event will bring together world leaders, policymakers, investors, business executives, academics and sustainability experts to explore practical solutions for accelerating the transition to a low-carbon future.

The summit aims to strengthen collaboration between governments, private sector organisations and international institutions while promoting sustainable economic growth and environmental responsibility.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Supreme Council of Energy, MD and CEO of DEWA, and Chairman of WGEO, said the summit has become a leading international platform for advancing climate dialogue and promoting sustainable development initiatives. He emphasised that the green economy is no longer a future ambition but a present-day reality driven by innovative technologies and scalable business solutions.

WGES 2026 will focus on four key pillars: energy technology and infrastructure, business strategy and transition, water and food security, and sustainable finance. The programme will also highlight the role of artificial intelligence in climate projects, effective governance, and system enablers such as resilient supply chains and the circular economy.

The summit reinforces Dubai’s growing role as a global hub for climate innovation and sustainable development, showcasing practical models that can be replicated worldwide to support environmental and economic progress.
