DUBAI- Dubai authorities have welcomed home returning Hajj pilgrims with a special commemorative passport stamp and a heartfelt reception at Dubai Airports, highlighting the UAE’s tradition of hospitality and care.
The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) Dubai introduced a unique passport stamp carrying the message, “The UAE Welcomes the Return of Pilgrims,” as part of an initiative aimed at making pilgrims’ homecoming a memorable experience.
Upon arrival, pilgrims were warmly received by GDRFA staff and children who presented flowers and commemorative gifts, creating an atmosphere of celebration and appreciation after the spiritual journey.
Major General Talal Ahmed Al Shangiti, Assistant Director General for Airports Affairs at GDRFA Dubai, said the initiative reflects Dubai’s commitment to placing people at the heart of its services.
“The return of pilgrims to their homeland is an occasion that carries profound spiritual and humanitarian meanings,” he said, noting that the reception embodies the UAE’s authentic values while reinforcing Dubai’s reputation as a global city that combines efficiency with human-centered service.
To accommodate the influx of returning pilgrims, Dubai Airports operated at full readiness, deploying dedicated teams, special service lanes, and streamlined entry procedures. The effort was coordinated with key partners across the aviation and border sectors to ensure a smooth and comfortable arrival experience.
According to GDRFA Dubai, the initiative forms part of a broader strategy to enhance the travel experience during significant religious and national occasions. It also underscores Dubai’s standing as a world-class destination that balances operational excellence with genuine warmth and hospitality.
