Israeli forces bombed two more schools in Gaza City, killing at least 30 displaced Palestinians. Paramedics said 80 percent of those killed and wounded at the Hassan Salama and Nassr schools were children.
Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian again pledged to retaliate for the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, telling the visiting Jordanian foreign minister that Israel made a “big mistake” in killing the Hamas leader.
Italy and Turkey joined a host of countries urging their citizens to leave Lebanon as fears of a regional war grew and Israel and Hezbollah continued to trade fire.
At least 39,583 people were killed and 91,398 wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza. An estimated 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the Hamas-led attacks on October 7 and more than 200 were taken captive.
