Dubai, UAE – June 22, 2026 – UAE telecommunications giant du has announced its sponsorship of the second edition of Dubai Mallathon, a major community fitness initiative aimed at encouraging healthier lifestyles across the emirate during the summer months.
Launched under the directives of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, the initiative runs from 15 June to 15 September 2026 across six of Dubai’s premier shopping destinations: Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates, Mirdif City Centre, Dubai Festival City Mall, Deira City Centre, and Dubai Hills Mall.
The programme offers residents and visitors safe, air-conditioned venues for walking, running and participating in various fitness activities throughout the hotter months of the year.
As an official sponsor, du will provide participants with seamless connectivity through its advanced indoor 5G+ network infrastructure. The high-speed network will enable users to access fitness applications, share their experiences on social media, stay connected with family and friends, and make full use of digital services while participating in the event.
Saleem Alblooshi, Chief Technology Officer at du, said the initiative demonstrates how community-driven programmes can inspire healthier lifestyles while strengthening social connections.
“Dubai Mallathon is a powerful example of how community-focused initiatives can encourage healthier lifestyles. We are proud to support an initiative that aligns with Dubai’s vision of enhancing quality of life and wellbeing for everyone,” he said.
The sponsorship also showcases du’s next-generation indoor network capabilities, designed to meet increasing connectivity demands and support innovative public initiatives across the UAE.
Dubai Mallathon forms part of the Dubai Quality of Life Strategy 2033 and contributes to the objectives of the Year of the Family 2026, featuring dedicated walking and running tracks, community fitness programmes, weekend races and inclusive activities for women, senior citizens and People of Determination.
By supporting the initiative, du continues to reinforce its commitment to fostering community wellbeing, promoting active lifestyles and enabling meaningful experiences through reliable digital connectivity.
