The 2026 FIFA World Cup final is set to make history with a blockbuster half-time show featuring global music icons Madonna, Shakira and BTS at the final on July 19 at MetLife Stadium.

FIFA confirmed that Chris Martin of Coldplay will curate the first-ever Super Bowl-style half-time show in World Cup final history, promising a spectacle “befitting the biggest sporting event in the world,” according to FIFA president Gianni Infantino.

The announcement has already sparked debate among football fans over how long the traditional 15-minute half-time interval could be extended to accommodate the mega concert production.

The entertainment concept follows similar performances seen during the 2024 Copa America final in Miami, where Shakira headlined the break, as well as the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup final at MetLife Stadium.

FIFA also revealed plans to transform Times Square into a massive fan celebration zone during the World Cup final weekend.

Meanwhile, Shakira is preparing to release “Dai Dai,” the new official anthem for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, produced alongside Burna Boy. The singer recently teased the song in a video filmed at Maracana Stadium, continuing her long-standing connection with football after the global success of “Waka Waka” during the 2010 World Cup.

The expanded 48-team FIFA World Cup kicks off on June 11 across the United States, Canada and Mexico.
