Dubai’s aviation sector remains operational but is yet to return to full capacity, as airlines and airports continue to navigate disruptions caused by regional instability and airspace restrictions.

Both Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) are open and handling flights. However, operations are proceeding under adjusted conditions, with airlines maintaining reduced schedules and managing ongoing delays and occasional cancellations.

Major UAE carriers, including Emirates, flydubai, Etihad Airways, and Air Arabia, are currently operating partial services. These airlines are gradually restoring routes, but have advised passengers to confirm flight details before heading to the airport due to continued uncertainty.

Recent developments indicate a slow but steady recovery. Some regional carriers began selectively resuming routes from April 11, signaling cautious progress. Despite this, many airlines continue to operate reduced networks, with over 100 destinations still affected. In some cases, route suspensions are expected to remain in place until as late as June.

Although regional airspace is technically open, flight operations are still influenced by broader Middle East tensions. Airlines are relying on restricted or rerouted air corridors, many of which are under tight safety and military control, contributing to longer travel times and scheduling complications.

The overall picture reflects a system in transition. While Dubai’s aviation infrastructure is functioning and steadily improving, it has not yet reached pre-crisis operational levels.

Authorities and airlines continue to monitor the situation closely, with expectations that services will expand incrementally in the coming weeks if conditions stabilize. For now, passengers are urged to stay updated with their airlines and allow extra time for travel as the sector works toward full recovery.
