UAE, Indonesia Presidents Hold Talks to Strengthen Economic and Strategic Cooperation

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan met with Prabowo Subianto in Abu Dhabi on Thursday to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across key sectors.

Prabowo, who is on a working visit to the UAE, was received at Qasr Al Bahr, where the two leaders explored ways to enhance collaboration under the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement. Discussions focused on development-related sectors including trade, renewable energy, technology, artificial intelligence, sustainability, food security, and culture.

Sheikh Mohamed welcomed the Indonesian leader and exchanged Ramadan greetings, expressing hopes that the holy month would bring blessings and prosperity to both nations and contribute to global peace and stability.

The leaders also marked the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the UAE and Indonesia, established in 1976, describing it as an important milestone and an opportunity to further expand cooperation for mutual benefit.

Sheikh Mohamed highlighted the continued progress of UAE–Indonesia relations, noting they are built on mutual trust, respect, and shared interests. He reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to strengthening its economic and development partnership with Indonesia.

The two presidents also exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual concern and emphasised the importance of promoting peace, stability, and political solutions to regional and global crises.

The meeting was attended by several senior UAE officials, including Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Fallen Heroes’ Affairs; Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security; and Suhail Mohamed Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure.
