Sharjah Police have dismantled a document forgery operation run from a typing office in the emirate, arresting a suspect who was caught in the act with forged documents and tools used to falsify official records.
Police said the arrest followed intelligence received shortly after detectives concluded an unrelated assignment. The information indicated that a typing office was illegally forging official documents and misusing electronic government systems, including the falsification of judicial paperwork.
After verifying the tip-off, specialised police units placed the office under discreet surveillance. Once sufficient evidence was gathered, officers raided the premises at a critical moment, arresting the suspect while the illegal activity was ongoing.
Forged documents and equipment used in the operation were seized and referred to the forensic laboratory for technical examination. Legal proceedings have been initiated against the accused.
Authorities said the operation prevented potential harm to individuals and safeguarded the integrity of official transactions in the emirate.
Sharjah Police cautioned the public against dealing with unlicensed typing offices or seeking illegal shortcuts, warning that document forgery and misuse of electronic services carry serious legal consequences.
Case Used for Public Awareness
In a move to enhance public awareness, the real-life case has been transformed into an educational message by Al Dhaid Comprehensive Police Station under the Sharjah Police General Command.
The incident was reenacted in a dramatized scene aired on the television programme Asakam Ala Al Quwa on Al Wusta Channel, part of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority. The programme aims to educate the public on legal risks, encourage compliance with the law and strengthen trust in official procedures.
Sharjah Police reaffirmed their commitment to combating fraud and forgery in all forms and urged residents to report suspicious activities and rely solely on authorised channels for official transactions.
