Dubai Courts Signs Agreement with UAE Sports Arbitration Centre to Strengthen Dispute Resolution
Dubai Courts has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the UAE Sports Arbitration Centre to streamline the enforcement of sports-related judicial and arbitral awards and to develop specialised expertise in resolving sports disputes.
The agreement aims to enhance the efficiency, speed, and transparency of judicial services while reinforcing Dubai’s global reputation as a hub for reliable and advanced legal systems.
The MoU was signed by His Excellency Prof. Saif Ghanem Al Suwaidi, Director-General of Dubai Courts, and His Excellency Jamal Hamed Al Marri, President of the UAE Sports Arbitration Centre. It outlines cooperation in enforcing final awards and orders issued by the Centre within Dubai’s jurisdiction and sets procedures for direct applications to the Courts in line with local and federal legislation.
Both parties highlighted the agreement as a step forward in developing a more agile sports arbitration system that keeps pace with the UAE’s growing sports sector. Al Suwaidi said the partnership will accelerate the delivery of justice and expand the scope of judicial services, while Al Marri described it as a milestone that strengthens collaboration with key institutions.
The memorandum also covers joint initiatives such as workshops, training programmes, and regular coordination meetings to support arbitrators and ensure smooth procedures. By advancing these efforts, the agreement underscores Dubai Courts’ commitment to building a judicial framework that promotes global confidence, enhances competitiveness, and ensures swift access to justice.
