Dubai: The UAE is experiencing a scorching week, with temperatures continuing to climb and health officials urging residents to take precautions amid dangerously high heat and dusty weather.
In Dubai, today’s forecast from AccuWeather shows sunny skies and very warm conditions, with a daytime high of 42°C. The evening will remain warm, with clear skies and lows of 32°C. As of this morning, temperatures stand at 36°C and sunny.
Heat levels are expected to intensify as the week progresses, reaching a sweltering 46°C on Friday and 44°C on Saturday, making outdoor activities potentially hazardous.
Abu Dhabi faces similar extreme conditions, with sunny skies and highs reaching 43°C today. Evening temperatures are expected to dip slightly to 32°C under clear skies. Currently, it is 35°C and sunny in the capital.
However, the rising temperatures are not the only concern. Dusty conditions and unhealthy air quality have prompted warnings from health authorities. Prolonged exposure to the outdoor air may lead to breathing difficulties, especially for vulnerable groups. Residents are advised to limit outdoor activity during peak hours and remain indoors as much as possible, particularly on Friday and Saturday, when temperatures are forecast to hit 45°C and 46°C, respectively.
According to the National Center of Meteorology (NCM), today’s national weather will be fair to partly cloudy, with some convective rainy cloud development expected in eastern areas by the afternoon. Maximum temperatures across the interior regions are expected to range between 42°C and 47°C, while coastal areas will see highs between 41°C and 45°C. Mountainous regions will be slightly cooler, with temperatures between 32°C and 37°C.

Yesterday, the highest recorded temperature in the country was 47.2°C at Barakah 2 in the Al Dhafra region, registered at 1.45pm.
Winds will remain light to moderate, picking up at times during the day and contributing to blowing dust, particularly from the Southeast to Northwest at speeds of 10–25 km/h, with gusts reaching up to 40 km/h. The sea is expected to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.
