Palestinians have held funerals for the five Al Jazeera journalists killed by Israel in Gaza, as protesters rallied around the world, including London, Berlin, Tunis and Ramallah, to denounce the targeted attack.
The European Union, China and Israel’s close ally, Germany, have condemned the killings, while the United Nations has described the attack as a “grave breach of international humanitarian law”.
Israel continues to pound Gaza, killing 10 Palestinians in predawn attacks, as another Palestinian child, Mohammed Zakaria Khader, dies of malnutrition. The latest toll from starvation stands at 222, including 101 children.
Israel’s war on Gaza has killed at least 61,499 people and wounded 153,575. An estimated 1,139 people were killed in Israel during the October 7, 2023, attacks, and more than 200 were taken captive.
