In a remarkable act of kindness, a bride from Turkey’s Batman province has donated the gold she received as a dowry during her wedding to support the Palestinian people in Gaza.

The bride, who has chosen to remain anonymous, expressed her desire to make her wedding a starting point for charitable work aimed at alleviating the hardships faced by the people of Gaza. She shared that she hoped her contribution would inspire others to act in solidarity with those affected by the ongoing “Israeli” aggression.

The total value of the gold, which amounts to 1.5 million Turkish lira (approximately USD 39,035.87).

As this inspiring story circulates, it serves as a call to action for others to consider how they too might contribute to causes that support human rights and dignity in places like Gaza.

A Palestinian paramedic, Assaad al-Nassasra, 47, who survived a deadly Israeli Occupation attack on a group of first responders in southern Gaza last month, has been released from Israeli Occupation detention, the Palestine Red Crescent Society (PRCS) announced on Tuesday.

Nassasra, an ambulance driver, was among at least 10 Palestinian detainees who were freed and transferred into Gaza. He was one of two survivors of the deadly attack.

The other survivor, Munther Abed, witnessed Nassasra being captured, bound, and taken away by Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF). Al-Nassasra’s family had lost contact with him on the night of the attack. His son, Mohamed, recounted that his father had been on his way to the PRCS headquarters to break his Ramadan fast when they last spoke. The family later learned from the PRCS that no one could reach him.

Footage shared by the PRCS on social media shows a visibly emotional Nassasra, wearing a bright red PRCS jacket, embracing his colleagues after spending 37 days in Israeli Occupation custody. His whereabouts had been unknown after the IOF opened fire on Palestinian medical teams in the Rafah area on March 23, killing 15 health workers. The attack, which has sparked widespread outrage, has led to calls for an independent investigation.

According to the PRCS, Nassasra was arrested while performing his humanitarian duties during the massacre of medical teams in the Tel Al-Sultan area of Rafah Governorate. The organization reported that the IOF targeted the medics as they were driving ambulances to assist wounded Palestinians following an earlier Israeli Occupation airstrike. Communication with the team was lost, and the IOF blocked access to the site.

When UN and Palestinian officials finally reached the area a week later, they discovered a mass grave containing bulldozed ambulances and the bodies of the medics. The PRCS confirmed that eight of its workers, six members of the Palestinian Civil Defence, and one UN employee had been killed in the attack.

In a statement released on March 30, the PRCS condemned the attack, calling it a tragedy not only for the organization but also for the wider humanitarian effort. A video recovered from the phone of one of the fallen medics showed their final moments. The medics, who were wearing reflective uniforms and were inside identifiable rescue vehicles, were shot by the IOF.

In response to the international outcry, the IOF announced an internal investigation into the incident. While the military acknowledged “professional failures,” it stated that its code of ethics had not been violated and dismissed one soldier involved in the attack. The PRCS has rejected the IOF’s findings and called for an independent and impartial investigation by the UN.
