Six United Nations staff were among the 18 killed in a school attack as Israel’s military bombed the UN-operated al-Jaouni school in central Gaza for the fifth time since October.
The Six UNRWA staff, included the manager of the shelter. The agency said it was the highest death toll for its staff in a single incident in the 11-month war.
Hamas told mediators it was ready to implement the US-proposed, UN-backed truce proposal without any new conditions from any party.
At least 41,084 people have been killed and 95,029 wounded in Israel’s war on Gaza. In Israel, the number of those killed in the Hamas-led attacks on October 7 is at least 1,139, while more than 200 people were taken captive.
