DUBAI-Vice President JD Vance has indicated that United Nations nuclear inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency are expected to return to Iran as part of renewed diplomatic engagement between Washington and Tehran.

Vance also confirmed that there will be no transit tolls imposed on vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz during the 60-day negotiation period agreed upon by both countries.

Meanwhile, Iranian media reports that three Iranian oil tankers and two cargo ships have successfully navigated the Strait of Hormuz following the lifting of the United States naval blockade, marking a significant step toward restoring normal maritime traffic in one of the world’s most critical shipping lanes.

US President Donald Trump announced that the memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the United States and Iran has been fully signed electronically. He added that the Strait of Hormuz is expected to be completely reopened to international shipping by Friday.

Despite the breakthrough between Washington and Tehran, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that Israeli forces will continue their presence in southern Lebanon, signalling that regional security concerns remain unresolved even as diplomatic progress is made elsewhere.

The developments have dominated discussions at the ongoing G7 Summit, where world leaders have broadly welcomed efforts to reduce tensions in the Middle East and safeguard global energy supplies.
