The United States and Iran have agreed to halt attacks temporarily and hold high-level talks in Doha, Qatar, on Tuesday in a bid to resolve tensions over the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, according to Axios.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reaffirmed that responsibility for the Strait of Hormuz rests solely with Tehran, warning that any attempt to bypass Iran’s preferred shipping route would lead to “tension and escalation.”
Meanwhile, regional tensions remain high. Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri rejected the proposed framework agreement with Israel, saying it “will not pass” because it fails to guarantee Lebanon’s rights.
In Gaza, Israeli forces killed four Palestinians, while Syria condemned Israeli military incursions into the southern provinces of Quneitra and Deraa, warning that the continued attacks could further escalate instability across the region.
