AMIDST rumors of separation from former Indian professional tennis player Sania Mirza, Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik has tied the knot with actor Sana Javed.
Amid speculations about his divorce from former Indian professional tennis player Sania Mirza, Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik has tied the knot with actor Sana Javed.
Malik announced the news on social media, sharing pictures of their wedding and expressing gratitude with the words, “Alhamdulillah and We created you in pairs.”
Following the announcement, the Pakistani actor updated her Instagram name to Sana Shoaib Malik.
Born in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on March 25, 1993, Javed debuted on-screen in 2012 in the spiritual romantic drama serial Shehr-e-Zaat, starring Mahira Khan in the lead role. That same year, she was featured in another TV serial, Mera Pehla Pyar. In 2013, she appeared in five serials and a telefilm.
Since then, Sana has been a prominent figure on Pakistani television, working on various notable projects, including Zara Yaad Kar. However, it was her portrayal of Sanam Ali Khan “Khaani” in Anjum Shahzad’s drama series Khaani that garnered her significant acclaim, earning two nominations at the Lux Style Awards 2019.
She received further praise for her role as Sameera, a rape survivor, in Rubina Ashraf’s crime drama Ruswai. Her performance led to awards for Best Television Actress Critics Choice at the 1st Pakistan International Screen Awards 2020 and Favorite Actress in a role of Nand at ARY People’s Choice Awards 2021. In 2020, she was named captain of the Islamabad Dragons team in Jeeto Pakistan League, a Ramadan special reality show.
According to The Siasat Daily, Sana married singer Umair Jaswal in an intimate Nikah ceremony in 2020. However, the two ended their relationship shortly after. In March 2023, Malik extended birthday wishes to the actor on her 30th birthday by sharing a photo with her. “Happy Birthday Buddy @sanajaved.official 🎂,” he wrote.
Recently, amidst rumours of separation from Malik, Sania Mirza shared a cryptic quote about divorce on her Instagram stories. “Marriage is hard. Divorce is hard. Choose your hard. Obesity is hard. Being fit is hard. Choose your hard. Being in debt is hard. Being financially disciplined is hard. Choose your hard. Communication is hard. Not communicating is hard. Choose your hard. Life will never be easy. It will always be hard. But we can choose our hard. Pick wisely (sic),” read the quote Sania shared on her Instagram story.
Sania and Malik got married in 2010, and they used to reside in the UAE.
