DUBAI – The Arab Media Award has opened submissions for its 26th edition, with journalists, media professionals and content producers invited to enter their work before the 1 March 2027 deadline.
The Dubai Press Club announced the opening of entries on Tuesday, 20 October 2026, as the award continues to recognise excellence, innovation and professionalism in Arab media.
Launched in 1999 as the Arab Journalism Award under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, the award was revamped in 2021 to cover a wider range of media disciplines.
Its development is guided by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council.
The award features two main categories: the Arab Journalism Award and the Visual Media Award. It also includes the Media Personality of the Year honour, presented by the Board of Directors to recognise outstanding contributions to Arab media.
The journalism category covers Political Journalism, Economic Journalism, Investigative Reporting and Best Columnist.
The Visual Media Award recognises excellence in economic, cultural, sports and social programmes, as well as documentary projects.
Dr Maitha Buhumaid, Secretary-General of the Arab Media Award, said the new edition would reinforce confidence in Arab media’s ability to deliver professional and innovative content.
She emphasised the importance of strong ideas, thorough research, clear vision and adherence to professional ethics in producing outstanding media work.
